Hi Donna, Scott and Julie,

Thank you for coordinating our cruise, transportation and hotel so we could celebrate my retirement with total relaxation. The Carnival Glory was a beautiful ship and everyone (crew and guests) were so friendly. We planned to fly down Saturday (a day before the ship left) in case we had a snowstorm here in New York/New Jersey area. Don’t you know, a snowstorm was predicted to begin like 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning and be at its worst just when we were making the 2 hr. drive to the airport. So at 1:00 p.m. on the sunny Friday, since we were all packed and just waiting for the time to pass, I called to see if there were any rooms available at the hotel at the airport and sure enough so we drove down and stayed overnight there. Our flight was an hour late leaving but that was fine as we were staying overnight at the Hyatt Place in Miami. The hotel was very nice, clean, comfortable and staff very friendly. Their breafast in the morning was great too.

The weather was 79 the whole time and the seas calm. The cruise itinerary changed and unfortunately we did not get to stop at Berlize or Roatan. We had one extra day at sea (which never disappoints us) and stopped at Costa Maya. Since our one granddaughter’s name is Maya it was a great t-shirt buying opportunity.

I wanted to share a picture of us taken with Captain Salvatore Rassello, on elegant night. Thank you again for making this all happen for us. If you have never taken a cruise, you should plan one for yourself. This was our 5th cruise but we met a couple who was on their 40th cruise. There was also a family who had been living on the cruise ship since last November. Guess instead of being “snow birds” , they were “sea birds”. Gotta love it.

Los Angeles, California

Great weather. Like, almost always. And tons of things to do, from people watching at Venice Beach to shopping on Rodeo Drive. World-class dining and nightlife can be found everywhere, and you might even get in the occasional celebrity sighting. As Frommer’s puts it, “Angelenos know their city will never have the sophisticated style of Paris or the historical riches of London, but they cheerfully lay claim to living in the most entertaining city in the United States, if not the world.”

Los Cabos, Mexico

From Hollywood stars to rowdy teens, Los Cabos, Mexico, attracts ’em all for a quick winter getaway – and it’s no wonder. Maui, Hawaii

It may be a long way to go, but it’s worth it when you get there. The island of Maui in Hawaii has a stunning array of natural attractions and activities to keep the whole family happily occupied. If it’s beach you want, beach you’ll have. Maui’s more than 80 beaches are all accessible to the public — and they’re among the most beautiful in the world. Leatherman, or Hamoa Beach, the ninth best beach. But there’s so much more to Maui, including biking, hiking, surfing, snorkeling — all manners of outdoor pursuits and water sports. Maui’s Haleakala Crater — a dormant volcano — in Haleakala National Park is a great place to hike year-round and whale-watch in the winter. The park’s wilderness provides ample adventure opportunity. Maui also hosts the nation’s largest the nation’s largest tropical reef aquarium at the Maui Ocean Center.

Wisconsin Dells is still the indoor water park capital of the world, but some of its major players — especially Great Wolf Lodge, and also Kalahari Resort — are building more water park resorts in other towns.
